Birding continues

Yesterday (Tuesday), went with Gord Saunders back to the West Doha Sewage Lagoons. Quite good (total of 29 species, 7 new for my Qatar list & a grand total of 43 since 12 September). We were there between 15h.30 & 17h..30. This is what it looks like:

ah the sweet jail ponds! Can't REALLY say that I wish I was there but... It's so nice to see pictures of life there. At least we can picture what you're doing now and not think of you as just away :) Miss you...

Looks pretty bleak there at the lagoon--good thing there are birds---sunshine + 40C + Sewage [I really don't think so}---is that a flamingo in the background--LOL

There are Flamingos in the vicinity but not in this photo. Mostly Black-winged Stilts plus a few other shorebirds. The bird on the bush is an Isabelline Shrike, with a Barn Swallow flying above.
